Schroff Varistar Server Cabinet – More flexibility, fast availability

STRAUBENHARDT – In order to meet the ever-changing needs of its customers’, Pentair continues to expand its range of server cabinets with new dimensions and components. To this point, various configurations have been added to the standard product range of Schroff Varistar server cabinets. At the same time, the standard color RAL 9010 (white) has been added to the standard color range.

The typical server cabinet is usually 42 RU high, 1000 or 1200 mm deep and 600 or 800 mm wide. However, higher cabinets, which hold more equipment within the same footprint, are being used more and more frequently. At 52 RU and higher, the new Schroff Varistar server cabinets fulfill this requirement without limiting functionality.

For the most part, customized cabinet dimensions and modified accessories are not new challenges for Pentair. ServicePlus cabinet configuration service has already been utilized in the past to take into account these types of customer requests. The added standard configurations now increase the transparency in our range of products and services with minimal planning effort and expenses. Additionally, custom configurations based on a predefined standard cabinet can be implemented more easily. Typical cabinet types are preconfigured instead of individual components. Suitable components and accessory parts, such as cable supports, splitting extrusions, slide rail shelves, cabinet lighting, power supply, locking systems and various door options are also available and can be selected easily. In the past, 21 various RAL colors were available for selection via the cabinet configuration. RAL 9010 (white) has now been added to the existing standard range of cabinets and aisle containments. Through the combination of various standard parts, our customers are able to configure a “customized standard.

” At Pentair, over 40 years of experience in developing 19″ electrical cabinets is incorporated into the continuous expansion and improvement of products. Improvements in server technology have

resulted in smaller electronics sizes with increased heat loads, which require flexibility in design from the rack, the accessory parts and the cooling system. Electronics with high computing power are being used increasingly outside of data centers as well. This consolidation of market segments also presents new challenges related to the products.

Therefore, the universal electronics cabinet platform, Schroff Varistar is not only the basis for server cabinets in the data center, but is also used in application areas such as audio/video broadcasting, test & measurement, defense technology and telecommunication.
